Sophie Quintanilla, 77, of Tilden, passed away peacefully at home in Glenn Heights, TX on February 24th, 2025.
Sophie Quintanilla was born in Tilden, TX to Saragosa Quintanilla & Paulita Rodriguez on March 24th,1947. She went to school at McMullen County High School & graduated Valedictorian of her class. She was involved in numerous sports in high school, won several trophies in Disco dancing contests & was a proud Active Member of the American Legion Post #275 Ladies Auxiliary donating her time & items to Veterans. She was an avid pool player “Pool Shark” and was involved in several Pool Leagues throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area including being a Captain for some. She was the most selfless, kindhearted person who was loved by so many & cared for all, a strong fighter until the end. The amount of lives she positively impacted is astounding, her legacy will proudly be carried on forever.
Sophie Quintanilla is preceded in death by her daughter Raquel Tijerina, her parents & her siblings Sylvia & Elena.
Sophie Quintanilla is survived by her son Chris Carrasco, her daughter Rachel Lynn Sifuentes; Grandchildren: Bryce Carrasco, Asher Carrasco, Ana Raquel Gaona, Abigail Lynn Sifuentes & Gabrielle Sifuentes; Great Granddaughters Nova Jade Dennis & Arya Jane Dennis; Siblings: Anita Lazo, John Quintanilla, Ben Quintanilla, Lupe Shanklin and Elsa Pollard.
Pallbearers will be Chris Carrasco, Bryce Carrasco, Asher Carrasco, Israel Delgado, Zechariah James Dennis and Sipriano Ramos Jr.
The family of Sophie Quintanilla wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Doctors & Nurses who took exceptional care of her over the last few years (Dr. Juvvadi M.D., Nurses Patti & Rosalyn along with all the staff at Texas Oncology Irving; Her hospice Nurses Shelby & Christine, hospice Aide Takola) & the countless number of amazing family & friends that have donated so much to make sure she receives the home going she deserved.
