Robert Garcia Obituary

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert Garcia, age 46, on April 24, 2022.

Big Rob (as he was known to many family and friends), was born, raised and lived in Dallas, Texas. The many adventures of Big Rob played out on the streets of Pleasant Grove (where he spent most of his childhood) and East Dallas (where he spent most of his adult life). Big Rob lived his life for his kids. When not shuffling cars around in his tow truck, Big Rob was busy shuffling his kids around to school, sports practices, academic competitions and making sure the family was well-fed. While family and friends were fortunate to have such a skilled ‘pit master’ ready to serve up the best BBQ for any event, they were far more fortunate to have such a selfless, humble and generous person touch their lives in the many ways that will live on in their memories. Big Rob had endless stories to share (often in the most animated way). May his legacy live on in the endless retelling of stories describing how he never hesitated to help out those lucky enough to have been a part of his world.

Rob is survived by his wife, Monica A. Garcia; his sons Robert Dylan Garcia, Jr. and Valen Caruso Garcia; daughter Scarlett Grayson Garcia; his mother Debra Gonzales; brothers Ray Garcia, Jr. and Manuel Villalpando; sisters Vanessa Stockwell and Crystal Pedraza and Grandfather EB Gonzales.
