Patricia Celix

Patricia Dolores Mijares, 56, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on May 18, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister in Christ. She passed with the certainty that she would be with reunited with her family and loved ones again and live eternally upon the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Patricia was born on March 16, 1967, to Martha Ortega Zavala and Julio Mijares Montelongo in Lerdo, Durango, Mexico. She was the oldest of 12 siblings and was greatly loved by them all.

In 1996 she met her husband, Salomon Celix, in Dallas, TX, and they married on June 24, 1996. Along with her two daughters, Fatima, and Carmen, they became a family and moved to Fort Worth, TX.

She was baptized at the Arlington Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church on September 26, 1998, and devoted her life to God and her family. She loved leading church worship and was an active member of the Pathfinders and Master Guides Clubs. She dreamed that her grandchildren would learn to love music and worship God by her side.

Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Ortega Zavala, and brother Cristian Mijares Ortega.

She is survived by her husband, Salomon Celix, father, Julio Mijares Montelongo, daughters Fatima Chevez and Carmen DeGracia, and their families. They include sons-in-law Carlos Chevez and Kevin DeGracia, and grandchildren Elijah, Jayda, Caleb, and Zayah. 

As mentioned, Patricia is the eldest of 12 children. She leaves 10 siblings which include Julian, Martha, Carmen, Imelda, Eduardo, Jose Luis, Luz Elena, Maria Del Rayo, Ignacio, Ana Julia, and their families.
