Elmira Rufina Funes Paniagua
March 17, 1940 – October 8, 2025

Elmira Rufina Funes Paniagua was born on March 17, 1940, in Aguacatan, Guatemala, and went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2025. She was a devoted Catholic and a longtime member of the Cathedral Guadalupe Catholic Church in Dallas, Tx. Elmira had a heart for service and traveled on many mission trips with her church. She also cherished visiting her hometown in Guatemala for as long as her health allowed.

She is survived by her daughter, Ana Jimenez, son, Joseph Cortez and wife, Josie, daughter, Glenda Paniagua and husband, Travis; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Roberto Funez and wife, Anita; niece, Sandra; along with many other beloved family members and friends.

Elmira was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonzo Funes Cruz and E Domitila Rivera Merida; brothers, Arnoldo Funes; and sisters, Carlota Flores and Roselia Funes.

Elmira will be remembered for her deep faith, loving spirit, and gentle heart that touched the lives of everyone she met.
