Carl D. Mittag of Dallas, Texas, died at his home on Dec. 20, 2020, at the age of 58 years. Carl was born June 16, 1962, to Arthur and Gloria (Shipley), in Milwaukee. After MATC, Carl worked at Vic’s Barber Shop in Cedarburg, Mr. Dino’s at Northridge Mall, and at Grand Avenue Mall in Milwaukee before moving to Dallas to get away from Wisconsin’s snowy winters. Carl wanted to “travel the world” and made it to the Caribbean, London, Paris, Hawaii, Florida and Las Vegas, among other locations. His favorite vacations were coming home to Wisconsin for Easter with his family and celebrating his mother’s birthday with gambling at the casinos with her and his sisters.
Carl is survived by sisters Debra and Carol Mittag of Grafton, Wis., and Joan (Lyman) Fischer of Plymouth, Wis., and brothers Paul (Patti) of Random Lake, Wis., and John of Slinger, Wis. He was the loving uncle of Crystal (Bill) Mosher, Daniel and Derek (Carrie) Knepprath, Elijah Fischer, and Jason (Michelle), Joshua, Jeremy (Amanda), Jacob (Falynn), Andrew and Zachary Mittag. He was also the beloved great-uncle of Dylan Rowdon, Kaylee and Jackson Knepprath, and Phoenix, Sawyer, Savannah, Macy, Winnie, Olive and Jack Mittag. He is survived by many other relatives, longtime customers that were like a second family to him and many friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Gloria Mittag.
Carl will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton at a future date.
