Alejandra Garcia Obituary

Alejandra Garcia Blanca, age 73, formerly of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, passed away due to complications from her battle with COVID-19 on Friday, January 1st, 2021, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Although she may have been deprived from her family's physical touch throughout her rugged battle, she was never alone. She raised her 5 kids all on her own with very little help. Alejandra Garcia Blanca was a strong, powerful, and unbeatable force of nature who would stop at nothing to ensure her family got the best life she could provide. Because of her courageous act of selflessness and sacrifice they all later went on to create families and futures of their own keeping their mother close by. Not only was she the best single parent to 5 children, she also gave it her all to ensure she was in all of her grandkids lives. Whether it was to go see a football game or to watch one of them graduate, she was always there and will continue to be there in spirit. With her friends and family keeping her in their thoughts and prayers, she continues to live on through love and memory as a daughter, sister, mother, friend, and grandmother.

She was born on April 24,1947 to Maria L. Blanca and Miguel Garcia Luna, She was a strong woman whose life on this earth impacted so many. She worked as a teacher for 20+ years at many elementary schools, displaying a tremendous love for each of her students. Going as far as to include individual students on family vacations. She dedicated her life to serving God which led her to teach in a Sunday dominical service for years after her job as a teacher. She had a tremendous impact on many kids she met, so much so that most went on to call her “Abue” (short for abuela) including her grandchildren. Her love for God and family drove her to be the kind hearted woman we all grew to love.

She is survived by Felipe Butanda;Son, Irma Butanda;Daughter, Joel Butanda;Son, Gustavo Butanda;Son, Rosario Valdez;Daughter, 15 Grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, Mario Garcia;Brother, Miguel Garcia;Brother, Claudia Garcia;sister, Carmen Garcia;sister, Jorge Garcia;Brother, and finally by all those who saw her and treated her like family.
