O.B. Jackson Jr., 61, of Plano, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 5th of 2022 at Medical City of Plano with his wife and his youngest daughter by his side after a year long battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.B. Jackson II and Martha Lene Jackson (Williams), and his oldest sister Anita Lanette Gaither (Jackson). He is survived by his wife Anna Maria Jackson (Ayala), his brothers Monroe and Lee Darcey Jackson, his sister Claudia Faye Jackson, his children O.B. Jackson IV, Shataqwa Renee, Ebony Danielle, and Martha Lene Jackson, his 4 nieces and his great nephew, his 8 grandchildren and his great granddaughter.
He was born on June 1st in 1960 in Dallas, Texas as the 4th child born among his five siblings. He attended South Oak Cliff High School and after graduating, he served in the Army for 4 years.
O.B. was fondly remembered by his nicknames which include “Jackie” or “Bear” amongst family and friends. He was a lover of war movies like Band of Brothers, The Patriot, and We Were Soldiers, classic cars, R&B/Soul music, late night rides, and the Dallas Cowboys. The thing, or rather the people, that he loved the most was his family. He enjoyed spending time with family whether it was chatting it up on the phone or traveling for vacation. He will be significantly missed and forever loved by all who had the honor of knowing him and had the privilege of being part of his life.
His Celebration of Life will be held at Lena Pope - Marty Leonard Community Chapel, which is located at 3131 Sanguinet Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107. The viewing will begin at 10:30AM and the service will begin at 11:30AM. His burial will happen at 1:00PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with its address being 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
